Anyone But You by Jennifer Crusie. I just picked this book out from the shelves at the National Library, under Adult fiction love story. Hey, I'm 19, so I'm considered an adult. But whatever, most probably during Primary School, Loke has already started reading love novels.

Anyway, it's because of the dog at the cover page, it makes me borrow it without thinking twice. Because, recently I'm so in love with books that has dogs in it. Like [Marley & Me], [the bad dog's diary]. The next book I want would be [Rescue Sprite], [the bad dog's diary (the hard cover copy, the sequel to the book I've read)] and [My life with George]. Nice books~ So if you're thinking of getting my a Christmas Presents, these books I've listed would be the bestest present I've ever receive, that's provided I've not get a copy for myself in the first place.

OK, back to the book.

It all started out where Nina got divorced with her lawyer husband, and visited a pound where she adopted a part basset, part beagle hound. The dog was saved by her before he was to be put to sleep the day after. She named him Fred, brought him home and introduced it to her friend, Charity.

She even taught Fred to walk out the fire escape through the window and back home. Apparently, while Nina was sleeping, Fred entered another man's house by mistake. Alex, the man, brought Fred home and that's where he met Nina.

And the sparks between them grow right from there. The book shows that age doesn't matter as long as two individuals love one another dearly. It also shows that money isn't everything in a relationship for two to be happy together.

No, I have not watch High School Musical 3: Senior Year yet. But I've watched High School Musical 2. What's my opinion was, I prefer Lucas Grabeel than Zac Efron. OK, girls do have their own taste in men.

But one thing I don't understand was, what does the girls sees in Zac Efron other than his looks? Hmm . . .

But I do know one thing is that, my sister said Zac Efron in HSM2 looks like her boyfriend. And I immediately changed my facial expression and has this thought to myself.

I'm having interview this coming Wednesday. Damn nervous. Pray hard that they'll hire me and I can say goodbye to Vocare Media even though I didn't even work for them a day. Humph.

Shooting

Meet sister at Woodlands, Causeway Point, Toast Box. Had Mee Siam for lunch with sister while we waited for Cheryl's arrival. My first time meeting Cheryl, and I was curious how she looks like. Thus, I kept asking sister if Cheryl is here?

After lunch and a little chat, we're off towards the park next to Republic Poly for a shoot. Sister is borrowing Baby's D60 to shoot Cheryl's tattoo. We walked to somewhere there's no much people and started taking pictures. It was damn hilarious.


It was hilarious, because it was the first time Cheryl is being a model in helping someone. She was camera shy and thus the whole process was damn funny. She can't being natural because it's so damn weird to be posing the way sister wanted.


Any kind of pose will do, as long as it's natural and that the tattoo can be seen. And so, Cheryl tried helping being natural and kept asking me to talk. But since it's my first time meeting her, there's not much topic to talk about. And so, she self entertained causing sister to laugh as well.


Cheryl did try her best to be as natural as she could, but somehow, she felt very uneasy. She kept saying that she's good at doing weird expressions, but not just standing and posing naturally for someone to take a photograph her.


And since she can't give a very natural pose, she gave this instead. *laughs*

I heard some hilarious stuffs after the shooting at MOS Burger. But sadly to say, I can't stay throughout, as I have to rush off to fetch Honey. :D

Slam Dunk

I know what I really really want for my 21st birthday already. I don't need fanciful birthday bash, I don't need expensive presents either. All I want was, a full set of Slam Dunk comic.

Vote NO on Prop 8

Ellen Degeneres had done her part in trying to keep her marriage legal in California. Due to the same sex marriage, and the definition of marriage, as well as stereotyping etc. people has been trying to take away the rights of same sex marriage.

I've been reading on and off about celebrity news on Perez Hilton. And I've come to know things like Madonna and her soon-to-be ex-husband filing a divorce, Ella Degeneres has a legal marriage in California, Barack Obama's grandmother's birthday is coming soon etc.

I do read some comments as well on certain issues that I'm interested in, such as prop 8. There's quite a many going against prop 8, as they think homosexuals are unhealthy, is a sin, and they wouldn't want their child to be educated anything on homosexual, because they think it'll make their child gay. But what if even without any education on homosexual, their child came running to them, saying that they're gay?

Anyway, I just read a short message by Ellen Degeneres. I pretty like the last sentence of the message.

"Hey everybody. There’re only a couple weeks left before we vote. In California there’s a proposition that’s trying to take away my right to be married. And if it passes, my marriage will probably no longer be valid.

The supporters of Proposition 8 have raised more than $25 million just to discriminate against same-sex couples who want to get married. That’s a lot of money.

I can think of 25 million other uses for all that money:

- How about paying teachers more?
- What about helping those people who just lost their homes in the recent fires?
- How about buying a pony for every child in California? How much fun would that be?!

Nothing much in particular

I was job searching today and I was holding back to some thoughts. There's more journalism jobs than I expected, and I so would love to try it out. But there's something that holds me back.

• I'm neither good in English nor Mandarin
• I'm always having error when writing in English or Mandarin
• I don't usually check for mistakes and didn't bother to improve

With just these 3 bad points of mine, how to be a good journalist? Besides that, during my journalism lessons, I wasn't paying much attention and didn't really know what's going on. I could only remember me laughing to myself when a friend told me she wished to be a journalist.

Speaking frankly, journalism has never cross my mind. I loathe journalism, because I could never understand how it works nor write out a good article. Although I'm writing one now, I'm pretty sure there's lots of mistakes such as punctuation, spelling error, vocabulary, grammar etc. Too many to be named.

But, I would so love to try out this journalist thing. I guess it would be so much fun. But side track, the job I saw at jobs central website is only hiring intern. *faint*

Oh yes, I saw another on wanting assistant editor/editorial writer/assistant. I find it interesting. But it's under business kind of article. Now I have to think twice if it suits me.

That aside.

Today's weather is freaking warm. Irritating. I shall close myself in an air conditioned room for an hour later. Humph.

Birth of baby hamsters

First it was Tubby who gave birth in the early afternoon, after I had my lunch. I didn't really notice it until I was preparing to put more shredded tissues for her to build a nest.

I got quite shocked to see some blood stains, I didn't see the babies in the first place, because Tubby was covering them with her body. I scan around the whole tank, to see little legs were moving around Tubby. I've counted the number of babies, it's around 10 for Tubby.


Pebbles gave birth at around 3pm, to be shocked to see only 3 babies when she left the nest. (Notice the tiny legs at the edge of the procelin.)

Hopefully there are more babies than I saw. *pray*

Anyway, people, let's welcome these quite little creatures to earth. :D

The trio also hoped that in the future, they will have a chance to collaborate with Deserts Chang and see whether that would ignite a different type of fireworks. They also were full of praises for their junior Judy Chou. Selina said that not only he was a good dancer, but the dance moves with them were also exactly as should be which was fairly impressive. Hebe next said that he was true to his origin as a competition contestant and did not suffer from stage fright at all. • I'm learning to adjust my photos which are underexposed. And yes, I had fun learning, and I didn't know I could use so many methods to adjust my photos. Yes, I know nuts about photography and photo editing. Hey, who says I can't learn them when I'm so freaking free now?
• Is observing my hamsters way of behavior, and I notice the guys tend to sleep more than the girls. I'm also wondering when the girls will be giving birth since I suspect they're both pregnant now. OK, I predict the babies will arrive sometime next week.
• I've also got to know that hamsters that are pregnant will absorb the babies when they're pregnant if they do not have enough nutrition. They also will absorb the babies if they fall from great heights, or when they had a fright. Amazing isn't it? And so, I take it that my Tubby doesn't have miscarriage, but absorbed her babies after her great fall. And I should have taken more care and precaution for her the other time she was pregnant. How careless I was.
• I had a slight tummy ache since yesterday. And I predict I'll have a major one in a few days time, where I'll 'lao sai-ed' my way through for at least an hour. Now I'm thinking what I had yesterday.
• I listed out the food I ate yesterday to Evil Sister, and her reply was, I ate quite a lot and had a good life upon knowing I ate sushi 2 days ago. Since when I had a good life? I just merely ate whatever I want to put on weight. And I'm still trying hard now after 6 months of losing weight. =.=
• I'm quite sad for not being able to wear my watch often now, because I tend to itch easily whenever I wore it. Was wondering am I allergic to certain material that I didn't know?

Salty's Obedience Class

Salty had his Obedience class today, by Patrick Wong. We came early, early as in 1 hour early. I thought we're at the wrong place, because there's no one around, except my sister, me and my sister's boyfriend together with the dog.

Yup, no. We're not late. The rest are finding their way towards 309B at AMK.

I can't take any photos, because my sister notice Patrick's face was black. Whatever. I managed to take a photo of his car though. =x


See, this is his car. Expensive right? $450 per student, and the class is like around 10+ students. Wow, he earned that much for just giving lessons. Nice~

Anyway, his car isn't the one I fancy. I prefer Mini Cooper or Suzuki Swift. They're nice cars. If you notice, Micky prefer smaller cars. Hehe . . .


The lesson was held at a car park near Caltex the patrol station. Nice~ And Salty almost peed on me. Naughty Boy!


Nope, I'm not trying to take a picture of Salty. I'm trying to take a picture of the dog beside it. It's cute! But it isn't the breed I'm interested in.

Micky's future dog will be a female of course, and the breed is . . . CORGI! It's a nice dog. :D

Anyway, the lesson for today was to teach you how to walk the dog on your left. Always on your left. And how to stop and ask the dog to sit, as well as make your turn. Although it seem simple without the dog, but when you're with the dog, a total mess.

Because, they'll get distracted easily because they want to make friends with one another. I can see that. It's a good thing, Salty didn't really bark much today. Patrick was kind of surprise by Salty's name. Yup, Salty.

Anyway, other than teaching how to walk the dog, we also learned how to make the dog sit if he doesn't want to. And yes, if your dog doesn't want to walk, drag them and walk slowly for a few steps and stop. Continue the process till they walk. Interesting isn't it?

Anyway, the lesson also taught us how to divert the dog's attention when they try to run towards another dog. Interesting. Although I said I wasn't paying attention during classes and learned nothing to Baby, but yes, although I wasn't really paying attention, I do remember at least these few.

Saw this Golden Retriever who was a champion for quite a few time. Quite obedient. As in when the owner asked him to sit, he sit. Ask him to stay, he stay. Ask him to fetch, he fetch. Ask him to go, he go, and shouted down immediately, HE WENT DOWN!

There's poodle in the area. Not my type of poodle though. Oh, and there's a dalmatian that came for practice only. He's deaf, but he remembers command through senses. Poor boy.

I got a bit of distracted and tired when the class has started about half way through. It's almost a 2hours lesson, with break in between. I must emphasis on this.

Anyway, went to Serangoon North today to get a silent wheel for the kids to be placed in the tank. Changed 2 food that we bought wrongly to Emotions that has Omega 6 in it, we just have to add $1.50 more for it.

Went to SengKang block 268D, to get 10packets of Vitakraft Wellness, that has Omega 3. Nice~ 3 packets to Baby's friend, and the rest we keep. My kids are fortunate, because they have all the food they could ever ask for.

Ella of the female pop group S.H.E really was not destined to have “good dog luck”! Her pug Qiang Qiang passed away last year. Her other dog, red Toy Poodle Ah Gui just became a father this June. However, when earlier she brought Ah Gui along to surf, it seemed that its eyes were injured by the strong ultraviolet ray. Currently its eyesight was close to being blind. Ella and her sister immediately brought it to see the veterinarian and discovered that because of genetic albinism, its eyes could not withstand strong lights. Now at home, in order to save Ah Gui’s sight, they did not dare to open window curtains and even made Ah Gui wear sunglasses.

Ella who fell in love with surfing this summer, not only did she surf to her heart’s content in the MV [Coastal Highway Exit], whenever she had spare time, she would also get together with her friends and bring her dog to go surfing. Last month, she brought Ah Gui to play in the water as usual. That day, the weather was beautiful with a bright sun. However after coming home, Ella’s sister noticed that Ah Gui seemed to have problems with its vision because it looked at but not seeing the food that she waved in front of him.

After visiting the veterinarian and discovered that Ah Gui had genetic albinism, they were then reminded that the fur color of Ah Gui’s mother, Selina’s Pinky was obvious much paler than that of other red Toy Poodles. The vet instructed Ella to be careful and suggested for Ah Gui to wear dark glasses to protect its eyes because resistance to ultraviolet rays was weaker in albino dogs.

Other than Ah Gui, its son Tie Dan was also tested and similarly diagnosed with genetic albinism, which made Ella somewhat discouraged. Because when Qiang Qiang was alive before, it also experienced the suffering of various illnesses. After Tie Dan’s birth, Ella even intentionally changed the name she originally planned, Lu Dan (Braised Egg), to Tie Dan (Iron Egg) in hope of it being easier to raise. Operation

My dog had an operation today, due to an accident happened last night. Apparently, my sister's boyfriend think he's so clever, he went to cut Salty's nail. I did remind not to cut way too much because it might bleed. Yes, they know, was the reply.

As I was watching the TV half way, a very nice commotion could be heard. Salty is bleeding. Went to the vet, had an operation due to expose wound and infection.

He came back with a bandaged leg and was walking and running and jumping just normally as though it doesn't hurt at all. Whenever I witness him landing on the floor hardly with his injured paw, I could literally felt my heartache.

Although he might not be my dog, as in under my name. But still, there's feelings towards him, after all I've seen him grow to the state that he was now.

Speedy recovery.

Dog Show

SKC is having their next dog show coming up. Here's the detail:

Date/day: 2 Nov 08, Sunday

Time: 9am to 6pm

Venue: Singapore Expo Hall 4B

You can bring your dog along as well, and that is if you have one. But if you don't, and is an animal lover, you can join in as well. You need to pay entrance fee, I can't remember how much. But I know for dogs, entrance fee is $1.

There's dog shows, from grooming to agility to obedience. And there's lots of dogs for you to pet as well. Oh, not to forget, there's booths around, from food, to treats, to apparels, to magazines for dogs.

It would be a fantastic day.

Memorable Graduation

It's 11 days ago, I had my graduation ceremony held at Ritz Carlton Hotel. Although I've lost my way somewhere around City Hall area, and mistook Carlton Hotel as Ritz Carlton Hotel, I still enjoyed my day.

My graduation ceremony was organized by MDIS and Oklahoma City University, and the graduating classes are from Mass Communications. From Professional Certificate, to Postgraduate Diploma, to Advance Diploma to Bachelor Degree to Masters. So there's like more than a hundred of graduands with countless of guests.

Although I had my graduation before in secondary school, but I would say, the one I experienced at Ritz Carlton Hotel was a total different thing. Maybe it's the ambience and qualification. And maybe, because I was wearing formal to attend the function.

Even without my group of friends, who weren't there to attend and receive their certificates, I still had a memorable day. Well, at least I had someone I love attending it with me. Which is something I've always wanted.

At 12:30pm, we're all seated in the ballroom, waiting for the whole ceremony to begin. At around 1+ in the afternoon, they've played a flash clip, titled, The Teacher's Movie. Which of course touched everyone hearts.

As the ceremony begin, with the Bachelor and Masters graduands came marching in, with the VIP and lecturers of both MDIS and Oklahoma following behind, I could literally feel that my heart is beating real fast. I was nervous, and I totally can't believe that I've actually graduated with a Diploma in Mass Communications.

Although the speeches weren't what we're actually waiting, but we're enjoying ourselves, shouting and making noises when the emcee of the day introduced the lecturers.

Finally, it's our turn to collect our scrolls from the president of MDIS and Oklahoma City University. I was dead nervous as my name was called and where I made my way slowly up. For a moment, I could feel that everything around me and become blurred, and that all I could see was flashes from the photographer just a few feet away.

As everyone had collected their scroll, there's a group photo taking sessions of each batch. Although during the process of getting us in place was a total mess, we literally enjoyed ourselves by trying to stand wherever we wanted to. And the phototaking was quite long, we just had the entertainment going around saying:

Just smile as long as possible, because we won't know when the photographer had done taking.

High Tea after photo taking. There's lots of variety, from sandwiches to desserts of various sorts. And there's a mascot of a graduating bear walking around taking photos with everyone. Students around talking to their family and friends, as well as taking photographs with their favourite lecturer.

It's a wonderful day. I went home with a graduation bear plushie and a diploma certificate.

Meet up Yee and Evil Sister at Woodlands Toast Box again. But I didn't meet them up early, because I'm off to fetch Baby off from work. She said she wants to see the girl Yee and Sister was looking at. So I brought her down.

On the train, we're playing Zoo Keeper on my NDS. I didn't really play much, because everytime when I want to press, the thing just vanished. How nice isn't it?

Anyway, we reached Woodlands, bought food and settled down to talk. And yes, as the 21 years old girls are talking, the 19 years old will be busy eating her dinner. Mee Siam was nice, but I don't understand why it's too sour for Baby. The toast bread was nice, as in the sugar toast. Yum Yum~

They're talking about relationship, which I don't have much experience in. So I just listen and laugh at certain point. The funny thing was, when Yee and Baby were talking, Sister made this act cute expression, which almost made Baby puke out the tea she was drinking. How nice. I didn't know my sister would do such a thing. And she kept singing Rainie Yang's song. =.=

Whatever I do, Sister will be saying that I'm eating Baby's tofu, even if it's just a normal of holding hands. Hmm. I shall refrain myself then in future when Sister is around. =.=

The way home was normal. I didn't know it would be that fast to reach AMK. Baby bought the clubpets because she was excited that Hersheys had won something from a contest. =.= And they say I look like Hersheys. I shall post the picture up in like, tomorrow?

Newly Added

If you have noticed, I've added an application, called [Plurk]. Since I had been doing nothing at home, I was just plainly surfing around and add whatever I want on my blog, and delete whatever I don't want as well.

Not to mention, I'm also clearing unwanted files from my laptop as well. Not to forget, updating my hamsters' blog, which Baby and I had created weeks ago. Because we wanted to jot down every single thing we know about our hamsters, since they have short lifespan.

I'm also playing with [Twitter] which Baby had introduced me. But I was wondering, can [Twitter] be put on blog? *thinking*

Ive also added another application, [Follower], for the sake of fun since I had nothing better to do. And if you're my regular reader, please click to be my follower, because I want to know who has been reading my blog all along.

After a long thinking, I felt like buying the eye supplement that my sister bought for me, because I don't want my eye to be in it's worst state. Forget about the vitamin C that I'm planning to get. My eye is important. I want to see my Baby till death do us apart.

For whatever the reason is, I get my lazy self down all the way towards Woodlands today. It wasn't a thing that I would do, but whatever, I just got myself there. Library we went, and waited for Yee to arrive. I didn't know she'll be here. Skip that part.

Evil Sister said she was there to do her work. But she was typing all the way on MSN, and did a teeny weeny bit of her work. At least it's better than nothing. Yee was busy playing PSP while Lei did her work. As for me, I'm browsing through MDIS member's previledge.

And, I got to know that members have 20% off from Comfort Delgro renting of cars. I also came to know that, there's a dentist with free consultation, not sure if it's for first time trip. And the price for dentist would be corporate price. There's also full body check up at $212 at Thomson Medical Centre. Cool right?

Anyway, dinner was at some Japanese restuarant. The best part was, we ordered more than what we could finish. But just eating a few pieces of sushi, Yee was quite full, and she couldn't finish her main course. Interesting.

Chit Chat at Toast Box. And the best part was, they're eyeing someone that we don't know. And because of today's outing, Evil Sister wanted me to blog about us going out 鬼混 =.= Nice lehx sister. I only flirt with my girl only.

Anyway, it's a tiring day. And I wish to sleep early. Had fun talking for them, and had fun listening for me. Although I didn't quite talk much, at least I did say a few sentences which is better than keep silence all the way.

She was telling me that she has a purpose in calling, and wouldn't tell me the purpose until the end, she's just giving prank calls to me. She thought of calling Baby in the first place, but because she thinks I'm good to be bullied, she called me instead.

Blake wasn't a good dog, and is always chasing after the postman, biting off shoes, and running around humping female dogs. In other words, he's seen as the most horny dog in the park. He even went to the extend of getting rid of Molly, his owner's girlfriend.

Somehow, he fell in love with this female dog, Ella. And he totally welcomes Ella's owner to his den to stay, which he didn't really get up to mischief. As a male dog, Blake tries all means to be the pack leader of the park, and he has to meet this deadly crazy pit bull, who bite any dog he doesn't really like. Well, this pit bull, Razor, had bitten a small innocent puppy who was just playing around on his own. Poor boy.

However, at the end, it seems that Razor was castrated and had a liking towards Blake instead.

It's nice to read, although it's a form of a diary. Think there's a sequel, and I'm so going to get my hands on it soon.

Marley & Me

Marley & Me was a well written book my John Grogan. It's been years since reading a book would make me cry. I seriously could relate myself, in losing someone I love, be it my pet or my love ones.

Marley & Me started out when John and Jenny, his wife, was thinking of starting a family. And being paranoid of not being able to keep even a plant alive, Jenny was reluctant to have a baby. Thus, they started out by keeping a dog.

They went to this Labrador Retriever breeder, and pick out their dog. By testing and choosing the brave one, not the timid one. They had difficulties in naming their dog, but came to a conclusion in naming him Marley after listening to their favourite singer, whose name was also Marley.

To me, Marley was cute. In that sense that he won't harm the babies, but try to chew a little on their diapers instead. Apart from his energetic behaviour, they still love him for who he was. Marley was strong, and that whenever a storm occurs, he'll make a mess around where he was locked up in. Making himself injured, where both John and Jenny would find a bloodied Marley.

The ending was a little sad. I teared as I read the last few chapters. The best part was, there's an article that was in the book, where John had written as a columnist to be put up in the newspaper.

In their latest album FM S.H.E, one of the new songs – “Girls Ought To
Be Strong” adapted part of its tune from Wong Fei Hong’s “Men Ought To
Be Strong”. The music genre is the line of “Chin-Hop”, a blend of
Chinese music and Hip-Hop. The lyrics encouraged girls not to be beaten
in Love, and the need to be true to and love themselves; advocating for
strong female awareness. A martial arts coach was invited to teach
S.H.E “The Art of Self Defence in Love” in preparation for filming of
the MV. The 1st stunt is to kick away the Poor Love that broke the
hearts of the girls; while the 2nd stunt is to open one’s arms to
welcome New Romance. The 3rd stunt is to learn how to Protect and Love
oneself while in a relationship. Next, S.H.E imparted these stunts to
the rest of the girls trapped in love and encouraged them to be
independent and stand up for themselves. There is no need to wait in
vain for Prince Charming to appear, but to be proactive to embark on
the journey to Protect Love.

S.H.E expressed that, “No one is perfect. Hence, do not compromise in
love just because you feel inferior. We girls, must be confident of
ourselves. If you have loved the wrong person, just get out and move
on. Only then will you eventually meet Mr Right!” Meanwhile, “Mdm Xi
Bi” who addressed fans’ love problems on air in FM SHE weekly, offered
