January First

Photobucket Before the clock strike twelve, before the last day of year 2008 ended, I had steamboat dinner with the girls. A very last minute thing I guess. But never mind. We waited and waited and waited, before finally it's our turn. We had steamboat dinner just right next to Indulgz, the one Xiaxue recommended, and the one the wife and I spent the dinner away on our first year anniversary. Delicious. I miss the pink salmon with white wine sauce. Yummy~

The dinner was nice. The food was a lot! When I say a lot, it literally meant a lot. We had beef, mutton, chicken, veges, mushrooms, eggs, crab, prawns, mantou and many many more. And we only had five mouth eating. But of course, we couldn't finish everything in the end. As usual, Micky is quiet. Haha . . . Yes yes, I'll try to talk more as the time goes by OK? If you're asking me to describe the food on how it taste, I will say I sucks at describing. Try it yourself. Haha . . .

After dinner, we walked all the way from Bugis towards Cathay. Settled down at Starbucks as we waited for the new year to arrive. Tick tock tick tock. And a few minutes before the clock strike twelve, Yee wanted to visit the loo. And Evil Sister said . . .

You want to have your countdown in the toilet? So nice, you'd be spending your first moment of year 2009 in the toilet. Your first publick toilet visit in the new year.

Sister always have such nonsense. As we waited for some shouts or whatever from the public, we managed to enjoy the fireworks at Starbucks. And so, we witness our first fireworks for the year 2009. One thing I don't like when I'm enjoying the breathe taking fireworks were the tree that blocked my view. And so, I only saw bits and pieces of the fireworks in colors. How nice. Which means, I get to hear the sounds of the fireworks display, and the colors of the various fireworks in different shapes and sizes.

The wife got sugar high. The NS women talks about either air force or the navy. They even took a picture of the wife being a koala bear with me being the tree. How nice. My first day of the new year, I am with the wife, the Evil Sister, Yee and WanJun. Woots! Happy New Year girls! Although we can't have the nicest view of the fireworks, at least we've enjoyed our drinks at Starbucks.

Evil Sister's friends came over. And so, on the first day of the new year, I made five new friends. We took a group photo together before we departed in our separate ways. The five of us walked towards Esplanade thinking of taking the night rider home. But apparently, at the bus stop, there were many many people. We watched the night rider to SengKang pass by with many people boarding it. Then it was Bukit Batok's, the same way.

In the end, we decided to take a cab. We walked further up towards Marina Square. Then towards the Singapore flyer. But there was no cab. We walked back down towards Marina Square at the different side of the road. We tried to hire a cab, but to no avail. We waited and we tried. All started putting and changing their status to [On Call].

At don't know what time, we manage to get a cab home. Nice~
Total damage, $23 for the cab fare and $105 for the steamboat dinner. Lalala . . .

Here's the first thing we did on the year 2009:

  • Visited the public toilet.
  • Took a cab.
  • Sat down at the curb to wait for the traffic lights in order to cross the road.
  • Enjoy the bits and pieces of the fireworks.
  • Meet new friends. (Although some of them had already know one another)
  • A long walk.
Anything else I miss?

Anyway people, in one month and twenty days, I'll be at the age of twenty. So people, do welcome me with open arms as I say goodbye to my teenage years. Party anyone? I want to sing lahx. Who wants to accompany me for singing session with a few glasses of alcohol?
