Vote NO on Prop 8

Ellen Degeneres had done her part in trying to keep her marriage legal in California. Due to the same sex marriage, and the definition of marriage, as well as stereotyping etc. people has been trying to take away the rights of same sex marriage.

I've been reading on and off about celebrity news on Perez Hilton. And I've come to know things like Madonna and her soon-to-be ex-husband filing a divorce, Ella Degeneres has a legal marriage in California, Barack Obama's grandmother's birthday is coming soon etc.

I do read some comments as well on certain issues that I'm interested in, such as prop 8. There's quite a many going against prop 8, as they think homosexuals are unhealthy, is a sin, and they wouldn't want their child to be educated anything on homosexual, because they think it'll make their child gay. But what if even without any education on homosexual, their child came running to them, saying that they're gay?

Anyway, I just read a short message by Ellen Degeneres. I pretty like the last sentence of the message.

"Hey everybody. There’re only a couple weeks left before we vote. In California there’s a proposition that’s trying to take away my right to be married. And if it passes, my marriage will probably no longer be valid.

The supporters of Proposition 8 have raised more than $25 million just to discriminate against same-sex couples who want to get married. That’s a lot of money.

I can think of 25 million other uses for all that money:

- How about paying teachers more?
- What about helping those people who just lost their homes in the recent fires?
- How about buying a pony for every child in California? How much fun would that be?!

Don’t let them convince you that discrimination is okay just because they can pay for a commercial. It’s wrong. Please vote NO ON PROPOSITION 8! I’m begging you. If you vote no on Prop 8, I’ll buy you a pony."
